Real Madrid’s unbeaten run has finally been ended after the capital club left it late to lose 2 -1 to Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Zinedine Zidane’s men had gone 40 games without defeat and drew 3 – 3 at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the Copa del Rey in midweek.

Cristiano Ronaldo got Madrid in front in the second half via a penalty after Sergio Rico fouled Dani Carvajal in the box.

However Sergio Ramos (usually the man who scores late goals) conceded an own goal in the 85th minute as nerves set in.

Stevan Jovetic settled the match in added time when his curling shot from outside the box went into the net.

The defeat still leaves Madrid in first place in La Liga with 40 points though they have a game in hand.

Sevilla meanwhile are second with 39 points though Madrid could increase that lead if they win their outstanding game.
