In its drive to help cat fish farmers in Nigeria USAID United States agency for international development has facilitated a partnership between chi farms and Niji foods to develop the cat fish farming industry in Nigeria.

At an event held at the American GQ Ikoyi the USAID Director Michael Harvey painted the stark picture of the catfish farming industry in Nigeria saying Nigeria consumes 2million metric tones of fish but only produces half of that number.

The partnership also supported by the lagos and Oyo state Government would involve chi farms providing a structure for training and appraisal of the cat fish farmers in a bid to improve quality of production.

The partnership is scheduled to last till August 2018
